I was 100% sure that it wasn't some witch or supernatural, it could be some crazy cultist people. crazy people, great acting, guys losing their mind etc. It all looked so real, the slime, the blood, symbols. The night before Josh disappears was the scariest when they ran for their lives in the middle of the night. Every time night came, I dug deeper into my blanket. I'm glad I didn't know about the hoax because it was the best 1 hr 20 mins I've ever spent watching a movie. I didn't even suspect it to be a scripted film. On the other hand, I watch a lot of true crime documentary so when I saw the first few minutes of the film, I thought, okay it looks like a documentary. I haven't watched even the most popular horror movies like conjuring etc.
You can call me that I live under a rock or something but I don't watch a lot of horror movies so I'm not very aware of this genre.
